Information about this Web Site

This is the web site of CTC Cornwall, a Local Group of CTC.

The WebMaster

The new Web master (as of Nov 2011) is Jim Wilkinson of the CTC Launceston group. He actually lives in West Devon, so makes sure he carries his passport to cross the Tamar :))

He moved to the SW some 5 years ago and still can't decide whether to express Launceston as "Lawn-Cess-Ton", "Lawn-Stun", "Lawn-Sun", "Lan-Stun" or "Lan-Sun" but it seems he's not alone in this matter.

The site was designed using the RapidWeaver web development software on a Mac.

Compliance

The site is fully standards compliant (see below) and the layout is fairly simple and uncluttered. If anyone reading this thinks they can improve on the (non-existent) graphics and give the site an "identity", we would welcome any offer of assistance.

Logo

We need some sort of logo to represent CTC Cornwall and create an identity. If you have an idea for this, please contact the webmaster.

Hosting

This site is hosted by and we are pleased to recommend them.

Browser Problems

This web site is fully standards compliant. It complies with XHTML 1.0 (Strict) and CSS Level 2.1. You can check this by clicking on the W3C links in the footer of any page.

If you have a problem with the site not rendering properly (i.e. it does not "look right") in your browser, then the problem is most likely to be with your browser, particularly if you are using an older version. Internet Explorer V6 or earlier is particularly problematic (and now obsolete), but V7 and V8 are still not standards compliant.

We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of your browser, or if you are still using Internet Explorer, that you install a standards compliant, cross platform and secure browser, such as
Firefox.

If you have read the above, and you still have problems, then please
contact the WebMaster and describe your problem. Please include the browser and version you are using (go to "Help" then "about"), and the resolution of your display (eg 1024x768, 1280x1024).
