About the CTC
CTC is the UK National cyclists' organisation. CTC has been protecting and promoting the rights of cyclists since 1878 when it was founded as the Bicycle Touring Club, subsequently becoming the Cyclists' Touring Club. If you are old enough, you may remember the "Winged Wheel" symbol.
CTC is a not-for-profit organisation that is funded through its membership and donations in return for support. By joining CTC you are supporting UK cycling and giving us a louder voice when campaigning locally and nationally on the issues that are important to you.

About CTC Cornwall
CTC Cornwall is a "Local Group" of the CTC. A Local Group, formerly known as a District Association (DA), represents CTC members in a particular geographical area. In the case of CTC Cornwall this is the whole of Cornwall. Thus if you are a CTC Member living in Cornwall, you are automatically a member of CTC Cornwall.
CTC Cornwall is in its infancy. The group was formed on 2 March 2008 and the first AGM was held on 16 November 2008. The Group has a committee and limited finance and aims to provide facilities, such as local rides, for CTC members in the area. If you have ideas about what the group should do, please let us know.
Some local rides were held during 2008; the Launceston Section has a very active programme. We now have a full rides programme for 2009. See the "Rides" page for details. To keep up to date, subscribe to the "Announcements" mailing list.
A successful programme of rides needs ride leaders. If you might be able to lead an occasional ride in your area, please contact us. You do not need to be an experienced ride leader.
